There has been an amazing growth in the use of wind energy over the last decades combined with a rapid technical development.
 
This development was pushed, among other things, by the innovative strength of our company. We were driven by the turbine manufacturers being in need of wind turbine gear units with permanently increasing capac-
ity. While the average gear unit power rating in 1990 was below 200 kW, today it is over 1.5 MW.

In close cooperation with the leading interna-
tional wind turbine manufacturers we recently were successful in developing gear units for the use in off-shore wind farms with a nominal power rating of 5 MW.
